Neither my kids nor I are perfect . . .

Recently I unfriended a close family friend on Facebook. This decision was made after it became increasingly clear that my kids were never going to live up to her standards.

She has made a point over the years to making posting after posting about her perfect kids & marriage. As anyone knows who reads this blog, I tend to share not only the great things that are going on in my life but also the not so great things as well.

The reason? Part of it is because I think it is important for others who may stumble onto my blog to know that even when we try to do everything right, sometimes things don't turn out like we expected.

I also believe that we do our kids no favor by sheltering them from making any mistakes. I also don't think it's right to allow our kids to sit in judgment of other kids in this family.

My kids are real. My kids make mistakes. I love them because they aren't perfect.
