Instead she made the choice to blow this money on who knows what and I really don't want to know. I think she thought I would cover it for this month, but as I posted previously, the astronomical heating bill we received this month blew any "extra" I might have had.
I talked to her about being a responsible adult and paying your bills first before paying yourself. It was like talking to a three year old and not someone who recently turned 21. I told her that I wasn't paying it at all this month. She petulantly replied that she didn't care.
If she is pulled over for any reason and her car is towed, it is not my responsibility to get out for her.
One of these days I hope she grows up. Personally, it can't come soon enough.

I hope the car is not registered to you. Tough Love is hard, but really is usually the only thing that works.
I hate those kind of parental confrontations; it seems like such a no-win situation. (with so many variables and scary possibilities) You did the right thing, hard though it was. And thankless, which is typical of parenting in general.
If it were me, I think I'd call the cops to stop her as soon as she pulled out of the driveway. 'Cause I'm a hard-nose like that.
It is SO hard to watch someone you love screw up. I'm on the other end of this - I've got a 12.5 year old who's currently driving me insane - but I kind of feel like we're in the same boat, you and I. Sigh...

What would her/your liability be if she caused an accident while uninsured?
Her car and her insurance are both in her name, so I don't believe we would be liable if anything happens.
